Magdy El Sayed  

Dr Magdy El Sayed has over 35 years of experience in human and animal health, he has focused his career on advancing vaccine and pharmaceutical capabilities in Egypt and the wider region. As a Professor of Infectious Diseases at Cairo University with both a Master’s and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, he has combined academic expertise with leadership roles at Pfizer, MSD, and Boehringer Ingelheim.

Dr El Sayed is the CEO, Founder, and Shareholder of Vaccines and Biotechnology City (VBC), a partnership with the National Services Project Organization (NSPO) dedicated to localized vaccine innovation. He also founded MEVAC, a major vaccine exporter, as well as UVAC for human vaccines and UBM for pharmaceutical and veterinary products. His work emphasizes the One Health approach and expanding regional access to advanced vaccine technologies—including classical, recombinant, and mRNA platforms. Dr El Sayed also support industry development through board roles with the Egyptian Export Council for Medical Industries and Clean Egg.

Dr Magdy El Sayed was elected on to the AVMI Board at the 2026 AGM.
